The Adventure Begins...kinda

You Think You Know.....But You Have No Idea

Home.
The past few months have truly been a roller coaster ride. We have been hurriedly getting ready for our departure date which was originally October 22nd. Well, the 22nd has come and gone and we are still here. I was hoping that our first update would be coming from our new home in Sofia, and I could tell you how exciting and amazing the journey has been and that we have hit the ground running. I wish those things were reality, and soon, I believe they will be, but in the meantime....here we are.

In the past few weeks, we have been confronted head-on by the struggles of doing things the right way. We have been jumping through hoop after hoop trying to get our visa in order, only to find out that there are even more hoops to jump through. The latest news is that we will be heading down to Los Angeles next week to apply for our visa at the Bulgarian consulate. All 5 of us. It should be a good trial run for traveling with 3 little rim shots.

Asa - 'Healer'

Malachi & Levi
Good Lord, our boys are crazy. Let me rephrase, they are just like me. Each one has their own personality, opinion, and demeanor, but also, each one is adventurous, wild, and never backs down from a fight. Asa is no slouch in the 'Strong-Willed Department' and even at 1.5 yrs is giving his brothers a run for their money. All 3 of them were made for this. If ever there were kids called, chosen, and destined to change the world, it was these 3. I am amazed that God would entrust us with these boys. I am even more amazed at my wife's patience and grace that she has for this house full of boys, me included especially.

Here are a few Prayer points if the Lord leads you to pray for us...or even if He doesn't, sweet Jesus, please pray for us! =)

1) Favor with the Bulgarian Consulate as we go in for our interview and a quick return on our visas

2) Smooth transition - His Grace would continue to be more than enough

3) Divine appointments in regards to housing, transportation, and accommodation when we arrive in Sofia

4) His joy to remain our strength in the next few weeks as we make our final preparations for leaving

5) We would have more than enough finances not just to take care of our needs but to be a blessing to all those we come in contact with

Thank you again for standing with us in prayer! We truly can't do this without you!

The following is an excerpt of what God has been speaking to me personally. I pray it blesses you as His goodness has blessed me:

"For the past few months God has been stretching us. As we prepare to take this leap, it seems as if He has already taken the leap for us. He now stands on the path He has laid out in front of us. From miracle to miracle He has lead us, all the while, teaching us how to let go and let God. Psalm 127:1 says, 'Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.' He is in control both in the building and in the protecting. He has never been too far that we can not reach Him, nor too busy that we can not hear Him. With His Grace, He has lead us one foot after the other.
It feels like we are base camp waiting to climb Everest. Everything in us is saying, 'Go! Go! Let's Go!'....but our lungs are still adjusting to the altitude. He has been showing us just how important it is to breath out our shortcomings and lack, our insufficiency, and how to breath Him in. It has become glaring, our need for Him.  The stretching has been God, graciously pulling back His bow. We are on the verge of being 'let go'. And as crazy, exciting, and scary as it feels, it is His Grace that has sustained us. Sometimes only in hindsight can you see just how faithful He has been along the way.
We are encouraged, not just by what He has done, but by how our family and loved ones have supported and carried us when we have been at the end of ourselves. There is only one thing we hear now. Pastor Wendell's words echo loud in our hearts and minds...We can do this.

We can do this!"
